Hello WORLD!

by Lorene on November 12, 2011

It’s cold, rainy and blustery and I’m stuck at home banging away on a deadline. My husband is in Boise visiting our son and my darling daughter is hopefully having a ball on a girlfriends weekend in San Francisco.  Still struggling with the remains of a nasty cold, and, maybe I mentioned it –  banging away on a deadline – a girl could feel pretty sorry for herself.

But I don’t!  I’m right (write?) where I’m supposed to be to welcome my NEW BOOK, Handmade Garden Projects: Step-by-Step Instructions for Creative Garden Features, Containers, Lighting & More into the world!  Thank goodness I was here to rescue it from a weekend spent in a soggy mailbox.  So, like a goofball prancing around with the new phonebook… not that I’m prancing, I plan to spend a quiet evening celebrating this moment.

There’s a ton of work I still need to do to prepare to launch this baby out into the real world of bookstores, blogs, and READERS, not to mention finishing the work on my desk!  But tonight the wind can blow and the rain pound, it’s just me and 224 pages, 2 years of work made manifest in real live ink and paper.

I’ve got a great big smile on my face.  Cheers!!!

You go, Girl! Got a book tour arranged? You’d be a perfect speaker here at my store!

Hooray! It was a long time coming, Lorene… congrats on a superb job. I can’t wait to page through all the wonderful projects you put together for this book. I’ve seen em all in action and I’m anxious to adopt several into my own little piece of Eden. Big hugs!

Thank you everyone for your kind words and heartfelt support. I’m really looking forward to taking this baby out into the world over the coming months… there’s so much to do and prepare for. Right now it’s nice to simply enjoy the moment – oh yeah, and finish my other work!
