TWO: DIY handmade seed packet
I’ve been wanting to start a series of collaborative projects and tutorials on PlantedatHome. So once a month I’m inviting friends and colleagues from a variety of disciplines to play alongside in my DIY garden-kitchen-blogging sandbox. I think I’ll call these creative online get-togethers: TWO.
My life is rich with resourceful, creative folks responsibly pounding out their livelihood. Being self-employed, a single parent, or a small business owner isn’t exactly a walk in the park. It’s all too easy to get fixated on deadlines, clients, taxes and cash flow. So I thought I’d spread a little love around and spotlight some of the wonderful people around me. And since most good things begin at home, I decided to start with the graphic designer in my basement–also known as my husband.
More than just a motto, it’s the inspiration and promise delivered to each client and project.
Studio Bolo is a small design firm that believes each clients message is unique; the partnership and process of exploring how to best tell that story is the heart and soul of great design.
Together, James and I came up with a pattern for these easy DIY handmade seed packets.
I love seed. Pretty little packets, often adorned with great photos or illustrations, filled with hope and optimism and the beginnings of some very fine eating or bushels of beautiful bouquets. And all for less than the price of a cup of coffee. What’s not to love?
Download and print the custom seed packet pattern (PDF) in the color way of your choice:
Plantedathome seed pack #1 sea foam green
Plantedathome seed pack #2 teal
Plantedathome seed pack #3 mustard yellow
Follow instructions included on the pattern
This year, rather than distributing your average “roses are red, violets are blue” dime store Valentines, I’m handing out our handmade seed packets filled with seed collected from last years garden.
Horticultural Heartthrobs: love-lies-bleeding, love-in-a-mist, kiss-me-over-the-garden-gate, cupid’s-dart, bleeding heart, passionflower, exotic love vine, love in a puff, hearts-a-bursting’, purple love grass, forget-me-not, painted lady runner bean, bachelor’s button.
Two hearts really are better than one.
Happy Valentines Day!
