Fight Flu with this Cleansing Room Spray

by admin on December 2, 2009

Wash your hands – OFTEN.  Cough or sneeze into your elbow.  Stay HOME if you’re sick.

Everyone’s got advice for fending off the flu.  Here’s a pleasant blend of powerful essential oils known for their antibacterial properties all mixed up in a refreshing (& chemical free) room spray.

6 ounces distilled water in a glass bottle with a spray top
12 drops lavender oil
12 drops eucalyptus oil
12 drops bergamot oil
100 drops of essential oil emulsifier (optional)

Add the essential oils and emulsifier to the water (use only high-quality essential oils, organic if possible).  Shake well to mix and mist room lightly.  Great for clearing the air of a sickroom during cold and flu season.

Other useful blends: A blend of rosemary, grapefruit, geranium, tea tree, and patchouli essential oils can reduce the effect of harmful chemicals given off by cigarette smoke, cleaning solutions, and the off-gassing of new carpets and draperies; well employed in office environments.  To deodorize the kitchen of cooking smells, combine eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, and grapefruit oils.
