Giant Potato…(plants)

- Champion potato plants
Let’s hope there are lots of real live potatoes underneath all that luscious healthy foliage! I’ve posted about this year’s potato-growing caper before.
To review: way back in March we “chitted”. Then in full Urban Hillbilly Chic mode I came up with my “crate” idea for growing the vines vertically!
Fast forward to the present…can you really call something “fast” if the process takes nearly 7 months? I’ve got a stunning fountain of foliage on my ‘Ozette‘ potato plants. ‘Butterfinger’ yellowed and died back a week ago or so; I’m afraid to look for any potatoes – I’m enjoying my illusion with never-before-had potato success.
As long as the foliage remains deep green and healthy I’m continuing to water the plants. In turn they continue to flower and hopefully set an even greater crop of tasty spuds! Only time will tell, but I’ve enjoyed the process.
hi there Lorene – love the photo! your hair must be getting long if you can ponytail it! xoxo deb
