viral coldframes…

by admin on July 31, 2009

Months ago I blogged about a DIY coldframe for the garden…believe me, protecting young seedlings from cold seemed a lot more topical back in January!!!  A friend suggested I submit the project to a quasi-official IKEA hacking site given that the main components were indeed pieces of IKEA shelving I found lying about in our “garden room.”

Well the hacking site liked my project and I was told to watch for the “ping back” or link to my post.  Here’s where things get weird.  Today is July 31st – but in the Global Village somewhere I know it’s Aug. 1st.  Because that’s the date of the post on this site…and this one…where my international debut is taking place RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE>  Or would that be tomorrow?!?  Granted the first site is skimming the second…which is actually the site I originally contacted…soooo.

Just so you know?  As of a few minutes ago when I checked, traffic on my blog was through the roof!  And it’s not even tomorrow yet!  The best part?  The following quote:

Lorene presents us with her “urban hillybilly chic” hack – a cold frame to protect your vegetable patch from chilly weather.

I got to say

URBAN HILLBILLY CHIC

to the whole wide world!!!

I’m glad Seattle’s heat wave seems to have abated.  I really need to get back to real life and accomplish something!

Cheers!
